About
My name is Aneta Piotrowska. I am a pediatric urologist and robotic surgeon based in Poland. I love what I do.
I was also a patient myself. I was born with a congenital malformation, and I spent many weeks of my childhood in hospitals. I remember the fear of being left alone, and of the pain that was coming. Every child carries those moments differently. Today a parent can stay with their child in the hospital, and I am glad, cause there is nothing more soothing than a mother's kiss and father's steady presence.
The first rule of my practice is simple: treat others the way you would want to be treated. I sat on both sides of the table. I try to do that justice.
What I write here. This site is where I think in public - about surgery, about children I treat, and about the strange, demanding, rewarding life between the two. Some posts are for families preparing for a diagnosis or an operation. SOme are for colleagues and trainees. Each one says which at the top. None of it replaces a consultation with your child's own doctor.
